On a warm June evening, I had an opportunity to present an outdoor piano recital in the gardens of the First Christian Church in Granbury, Texas. I performed music by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Satie, Scriabin, and a selection of my piano music on a unique, one-of-a-kind piano. An upright Story & Clark piano spent more than three years outside in the prayer labyrinth next to the church; it defied all laws of nature, surviving several deep freezes and scorching Texas summer temperatures without missing a key!
